The first mission team came to Jinja in 1994 to begin a movement of churches of Christ throughout the Busoga region of
Uganda . Throughout these earlier years God blessed the team with the addition of many capable and dedicated individuals and families who served the work and people here. The Current Jinja Team has also been blessed, not only to continue a thriving and dynamic work from those who came before us, but also to have been drawn to each other from many different places and seasons of life, as you can read in our team profiles. The Langfords and Bogles came to Jinja in October 2004 with a five year commitment to work mainly in village churches with Ugandan leaders. The Manrys arrived in November 2005 with a five year commitment to work primarily in Jinja town with the Jinja Church of Christ and the Source Cafe and Resource Centre. The Garners are recent additions who joined us in February 2008 and quickly became integrated into the life and work in Busoga. They have made an initial three year commitment to work with the Mvule Project in partnership with the Kibo Group.
Our identity and work as a team is also shaped by our partnership with many Ugandan leaders that give their vision, talents, and lives to the movement of churches here in Busoga. We are privileged to be surrounded by a people whose faith and hope in Jesus Christ challenges and compels us towards Gods Kingdom. We invite you to learn about us and the past team, contact us, and perhaps become involved in someway with the work here.
