Mark and Lori Manry PDF Print E-mail

manrysMark and Lori Manry came to Jinja from Rochester, Michigan with their three children: Luke (8), Connor (6), and Lydia Jane (5) in November 2005. Their newest daughter Tessa (1) was born in Kampala. Mark and Lori were sent by their home church, Rochester Church of Christ, who also support Spencer and Emily Bogle.  God led them to the Jinja Mission through the relationship they formed with the Bogles while they were in Michigan in 2004, preparing to begin their work in Jinja.  Mark is originally from Vero Beach, FL where he grew up before attending Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN where he graduated in 1997 with a degree in Bible and Psychology and a Master of Divinity in 2005.  Lori grew up in Troy, MI before going to Lipscomb and graduating with a degree in Family Sciences.  It was at Lipscomb that Mark and Lori met and began their journey together which first brought them to Michigan where Mark worked in a snowplowing and landscaping business with Lori's family, and then to Uganda.

Mark presently works in Jinja town with the Jinja Church of Christ and the Source Cafe and Resource Center.  Mark does a little bit of everything on the team to integrate our ministries and facilitate partnerships with Ugandans to serve the churches in Busoga along side Richard Bazonoona, Lazarus Wagoli, and Ronald Mugulusi.  Lori is actively involved in women's ministries, along with Emily and Kym, reaching out and strengthening the women in our churches.

Luke, Connor, and Lydia Jane (who was adopted from Guatemala) are adventurous little missionaries who enjoy living life in Africa. They love going to villages, playing with their missionary, expat, and Ugandan friends, and running outside barefoot all day long!
