Jinja Mission Team - Busoga Churches of Christ

Ben was raised in Edmond, OK where he attended the Quail Springs Church of Christ. He experienced his first mission while in the youth group when he traveled to Toulouse, France in the Summer of 1992. Since that time, God has continually shaped and reshaped Ben's view of the world and God's mission to humanity by participating in numerous missions in places like Poland , Kenya , and Uganda. Ben graduated from Oklahoma Christian University with a B.A. in Bible and Ministry and later completed an M.S. in Ministry from Pepperdine University while coaching soccer and teaching Bible at Cascade College in Portland, OR. It was at Cascade that he met his wife Kym. 

Kym was born and raised in Vancouver, WA. While Kym did not grow up as a Christian, God drew Kym into a relationship with Him and she professed her faith in the fall of 1999. Kym then decided to attend Cascade College where she earned a B.S. in Inter Disciplinary Studies with emphases in human health, Bible, and Psychology. Ben and Kym were married on December 12, 2002 . They have two sons, Elijah, who is four years old and Noah who is one and a half years old. Ben and Kym come from different experiences but believe God has molded and shaped them for a new journey together as they share the good news of Jesus Christ with the Busoga people. Ben's primary role is planting and nurturing churches and church leaders in the villages in the Busoga region. He also develops Ugandan leaders by teaching in Busoga Bible School and serves as member of the board of directors for the school. While Kym primarily takes care of Elijah and Noah at home, she also participates in the women's ministries, health education, and economic development projects.
